Our first day off to explore! Found a place to do laundry, checked out a local thrift store, and did some food shopping. Afterwards, headed to the Taos Farmer's Market. Purchased some carrots, cherry tomatoes, and pickled beets. Could have spent a lot more time there, but just caught the tail end.

I ended up staying in that general area most of the day checking out various souvenir shops and this amazing chocolate shop called Chokola, where I had a flight of tasting chocolates (YUM!). Finally, I capped my day by having dinner at the Azteca Mexican Grill. Starting with chips and salsa, I eventually graduated to huaraches with carne al pastor and asada meat (with a side of watermelon margarita)--scrumptious!

On the way back to the ranch, I stopped by the Rio Grande Gorge again to get a better look. What a sight!
